Week 19: Al Faisaly steal the top spot of Al Manaseer Jordanian Pro League

Al Faisaly’s recent leap in form saw them seize the number one spot in the league after the end of week 19, taking advantage of former leaders Al Jazeera draw.

The race for the title remains strong as Al Faisaly lead only 2 points clear of defending champions and second placed Al Wehdat, with Al Jazeera in third in goal difference.

In the encounter that was held at the Hassan International Stadium in Irbid on Saturday, April 15, Al Faisaly’s win came in a dramatic way.

Al Sareeh took the lead through Emanuel in the 31st minute, while Ibrahim Al Zawahreh equalized for Al Faisaly in the 43rd minute. The match remained tied until Al Faisal’s captain Bahaa Abdelrahman broke the deadlock and scored the winner in the 4th minute of the second half’s additional time.

Al Faisaly reached point number 39, while Al Sarah remains at the bottom of the table with 14 points.

Former leaders Al Jazeera failed to keep their lead at the top of the table after settling for a 3-3 draw with That Ras in the match that was held at the Prince Faisal Stadium on Thursday, April 13. Francisco scored Al Wehdat’s winner in the 63rd minute, while Shabab Al Ordon’s went down to seventh wth 24 points.

Al Buqaa managed to defeat Mansheyet Bani Hassan 2-1 thanks to Rimmi’s equalizerin the 39th minute to Ashraf Almasaeed’s opener in the 19th minute, and Adnan Addous’ winner in the 60th minute. Al Buqaa reached their 16th points, while Mansheyat Bani Hassan’s points froze at 33.

On Friday, Al Hussein clinched an important 3-1 win against Al Ahli in the match that took place at the Hassan International Stadium to take them out of the relegation zone. Al Hussein took the lead through Ahmad Alshaqran in the 29th minute, Al Ahli equalized through Haj Malik in the 36th minute. However, a brace from Mohammed Alzino (72’, 88’) retook the lead and sealed the win for Al Hussein.

Al Hussein went up to sixth with 24 points while Al Ahli remained in eighth with 20 points.

In week 19’s closing match on Saturday, Al Ramtha recorded a 3-0 win against Sahab in the encounter that was held at the King Abdullah II Stadium.

The 3 goals came in the second half with Ammar Abu Olaiqa (68’), Shiekh Si (82’), and Ahmad Samir (87’) on target. Al Ramtha went up to fifth with 30 points, while Sahab remained 11th with 14.
