Jordan WNT defeated by Atletico de Madrid
Jordan Women's National Team sustained a 6-1 loss against Atletico de Madrid Femenino, in the friendly encounter that was held on Wednesday, February 21, at the Ciudad Deportiva Atlético de Madrid (the Club's official training ground and academy base) in Madrid.
The match comes as part of the ongoing preparations for the AFC Women's Asian Cup, which Jordan hosts next April, where five of the participating eight national teams will book a qualification ticket to the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019.
A match against Liga Iberdrola (Spanish Women's Primera División) leaders was not easy for Jordan, as they faced a very talented, and highly gifted and tactical team, that dominated play and possession, creating danger from the flanks, the center, while maintaining a solid defense.
The hosts managed to scored 3 goals in each half, while Maysa Jbarah struck Jordan's goal reducing the result to 4-1 during the second half.
Jordan takes on Rayo Vallecano on Thursday night (kickoff @ 9:45 Jordan Local Time), in the final match of the Spain training camp which comes as part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Jordan Football Association and La Liga, which includes a part dedicated to the development of the Women’s Football scene in Jordan.
