Jordan eyes the 3 points in AFC Women's Asian Cup opener
Jordan Women's National Team takes on the Philippines in the opening match of the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2018 and World Cup qualification, which kicks off on Friday, April 6, at the Amman International Stadium.
The team lead by head coach Michael Dickey targets World Cup's first birth from the Asian Finals, when they play at home, relying on an extra push from the crowds who will be showing their support.
A win in the first game would set the right path for the team to continue their journey towards their target, and the team is ready to take on the Philippines.
The mixture of experienced and youth players will be another advantage for the team, with chemistry, technical and tactical readiness at its peak, following an intensive preparations agenda that the team had.
Jordan was drawn at group A with China, Thailand, and the Philippines. While Japan, Australia, Korea and Vietnam will battle it out in group B.
The second encounter in the group stage will be against Thailand on April 9, before facing China in the closing game on April 12.
